My dad meets my son.

On #remembranceday , let's talk peace and truth by remembering one forgotten story from the Middle East history of colonization.
They call it Iranian Famine of 1942 as if it were just by nature to be occupied by United Kingdom in south and Soviet Union in the north.
The two occupiers took over 75 percent of Iran's food industry, resulting in death by starvation that killed one-third of the population.
Although Reza Shah declared neutrality at an early stage of #wwii , Iran had greater strategic importance to the British government, which at the time produced eight million tons of oil in Abadan refinery rendering Iran's rich resources a must own by all means.
Precursor to the violent invasion of Iran, United Kingdom, began to accuse #Iran of supporting Nazi Germany.
The two Allied nations applied enormous pressure on Iran, which led to increased tensions and spreading anti-British/Soviet rallies in Iran. The Allied governments immediately described the protests as pro-German.
A baseless #propaganda promoted through major #British and Soviet media to attract European support for the Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran.

While a well documented fact is that by 1942, despite total economic collapse, Iran accepted over 115,000 European refugees, many of them #Jews, who were fleeing German occupation.
The lesser known fact is that Iran deplomatic mission through its embassies in European countries by issuing passports to non-Iranian Jews in the hopes of protecting them from Nazi persecution estimated saving lives of nearly 4000 Jewish people.

These are stories from the Middle East that I learned from my parents, the generation that indured so much hardship and no acknowledgment, yet never lost sight of humanity.

In the Middle East that I grew up in, we never ask anyone, "Where are you really from?"we never asked our neighbors whether you are Muslim, Jewish, Bahia, Christian, Zorastrian, ... we just loved each other, and that was enough.
For humanity, we should be asking the #war to stop.
This colonized land can not take more hardship.
It is time to intently hear everyone story if lasting peace is the intent in the Middle East.

پروژه دیجیتال, این اثر تقدیم به کسانی است که در سراسر جهان از قرار گرفتن در معرض گرد و غبار اورانیوم رنج می برند، به ویژه افرادی که تحت تأثیر بمباران ناتو در صربستان، عراق، افغانستان و لیبی قرار گرفته اند که باعث آلودگی میلیون ها هکتار از زمین های کشاورزی برای ملینوم ها شده است. مطالعات متعدد نشان داد که آلودگی زمین در آن کشورها تأثیر مستقیمی بر مرگ و میر نوزادان، تغییر شکل شدید تولد و افزایش سرطان در جمعیت دارد. بر اساس داده های سازمان بهداشت جهانی در سال 2004، عراق بالاترین میزان مرگ و میر ناشی از سرطان خون را در بین کشورهای دیگر جهان داشت.
